Program Notes

This suite was written and intended as a homage and stepping stone to the great band works of Holst, Grainger and Vaughan Williams. The three movements are based on traditional English folk tunes which include settings of sea songs, a ballad, and variations on an old whimsical children’s song, written somewhat in the style of the above-mentioned masters.
