Program Notes

Year Of The Dragon captures the essence of the Orient with its percussive effects and gripping harmonies, but at a level many developing bands can achieve. A stately theme opens this work with contrasting rhythmic values between brass and woodwind. The fast section features melodies that travel from section to section and from style to style. This ominous work can easily serve as a concert opener or finale.
