Program Notes

Who else but Anne McGinty could arrange this charming tune by William Byrd for beginning band? This tune has all of the grace, style and spirit of the Renaissance era.

- Program Note adapted from publisher

The Wolsey's Wilde melody is also the fifth movement of Gordon Jacob's William Byrd Suite. It was found in the Fitzwilliam Virginal Book, which is a collection of English keyboard music written in the Elizabethan period (approx.1562-1612).

- Program Note from Elmhurst College Faculty Recital concert program, 10 September 2017
