Program Notes
The original version of this composition was written for choir and features the fabulous poetry of Malca Litovitz. Few poems manage to capture the magic of our Canadian winters as this poetry does. The composition strives to convey many of the images that are presented in the poetry by the use of word painting. Audiences may benefit from hearing the poetry and listening for "the flow of birds" and the "majestic silence".
