Program Notes

Commissioned in 2015 by the International Horn Society, this uplifting and melodic work provides an opportunity for the majestic horn to soar. With a lyrical solo and cued parts, performances can feature an individual player, or members of the horn section.

Wingspan was given its world premiere at the 47th International Horn Symposium by International Horn Society President Jeffrey Nelsen, along with the Colburn School Adult Wind Symphony, conducted by Dennis Zeisler.
