Program Notes

As with previous works such as Flower Crown and In Seizing the Distant Light, this is created to provide quality wind literature for small bands. It is scored so the band can produce a resonant timbre with not so many members. Written not just as performance repertoire, there is an educational element of interpretation for the director to get the performers involved in playing various styles such as staccato, accents, and tenuto.

A special thank you to my good friend and flutist Yua Yatabe for her help in selecting the title of the piece.
