Program Notes

The tranquil nature of the piece can be carried through amazingly well in performance, even by young bands. It's a rare gem at this level, a sort of "tone painting" that evokes thoughts of rustling leaves, gentle breezes and peaceful times. It's a marvelous vehicle to build a band's sense of balance and blend, and employs techniques such as whispering and using instruments to create wind effects.
