Program Notes

The bittersweet theme of love and longing from the 18th Century Welsh folksong Gwenith Gwyn translates beautifully for concert band. The title is taken from the opening line of the song's text, with the graceful melody placed in comfortable ranges This is a lovely, mellow adaptation that can assist in developing expressive playing.
