Program Notes
This work is a lively scherzo. A joyful, yet determined mood prevails throughout. The themes utilized are Away, Away, Away We Go and Benny Havens, Oh!. The work ends triumphantly, portraying the eager feelings of the graduating cadet who has survived the uncompromising four years at West Point, who understands the true meaning of "Duty, Honor, Country."
