Program Notes

Alun Hoddinott's Welsh Air and Dances was commissioned by the International Festival of Youth Brass and Symphonic Bands and were first performed in August 1975 at Royal Albert Hall, London.

The material used in immediately appealing, with melodic lines and rhythmic ideas that are simple yet effective and enjoyable both to the player and the listener.
