Program Notes

Jones wrote we’ll find our way. in 2020 as the COVID-19 pandemic was forcing music programs around the world to rethink everything about what they did. He expounds on its significance and inspiration in the program notes:

we’ll find our way. was composed as a contribution to the growing repertoire of “flexible” music that aims to provide musicians, teachers, and students with fulfilling music experiences during the uncertain time of the COVID-19 pandemic. This work is scored for six parts with optional percussion and is thus playable by as few as six players on standard wind band/orchestral instruments, or by as many as a full orchestra or wind band. This work serves as a message of hope for all musicians, music teachers, and students during this challenging time, and is dedicated to them.
