Program Notes

The definition of the word "voltage" is the total energy required to move an electrical charge between two points. Capturing this searing energy like a lightning bolt is this sizzling composition for developing concert bands. Driving rhythms, striking dynamics, and playable syncopation give this piece real appeal and is scored to showcase both winds and percussion. Absolutely electric!

- Program Note by publisher

Voltage is more exactly defined as the rate at which energy is drawn from a source that produces a flow of electricity.

Commissioned by and dedicated to the Clay County Middle School Band, Clay, West Virginia, Doug Wayne, conductor.
