Program Notes
Experience victory with this well-conceived work that exemplifies the very meaning of the word. Various compositional technics and styles exemplify conflict, exultation and sorrow, all of which can be encountered when striving for victory. The use of Taps both in part and in full reminds the listener that loss can be a product of the endeavor as the work fades quietly to conclusion. Several staging possibilities help add to the full effectiveness of the piece
