Program Notes

Commissioned by the Nebraska Wesleyan University Wind Ensemble, A Very American Overture gets its title from the character of the music in the work, all of which is intended to be American in style. This very playable overture is highly energetic and witty and it is filled with jutty rhythms and lush jazz harmonies.
