Program Notes

Variations on a Bach Chorale was commissioned by the Maine Chapter of the National Band Association and premiered by the Maine All-State Band in 1996, with Lewis Buckley conducting.The work is based on the Bach chorale Nimm von uns, Herr, du treuer Gott (Have mercy, Lord, and hear our prayer) BWV 101, and is in four movements.
