Biography
Urban Farrington Carvalho (b. 26 July 1939, Hilo, Hi.) is an American composer, saxophonist and conductor.
Carvalho joined the U.S. Navy after graduating from high school and attended the Navy School of Music and St. Leo College. He played clarinet and saxophone with navy bands in Kodiak, Alaska, and Pearl Harbor, Hawaii. Later, he was chief arranger with the U.S. Navy Band in Washington, D.C. and was an instructor at the Armed Forces School of Music. He was later stationed at the Naval Educational Training Program Development Center in Pensacola, Florida, and retired in Pensacola.
