Program Notes
Dedicated to "Professor John Howard and the University of North Dakota Band," 2020 marks the 85th anniversary of this wonderful march written for our own institution of higher education. John Howard was Director of Band & Orchestra at UND from 1928-1959. A master of public relations, it was said he toured extensively with the UND Band in an effort to establish a good line of communication between the rural communities of the state and the University. An early supporter and board member bf the International Music Camp, the camp's Howard Hall was named for him.
