Program Notes

With lush harmonies and lyrical melodies, Twilight paints the musical portrait of a beautiful fall sunset. Written for the University of Dayton New Horizons Band, this quiet and expressive piece will be a wonderful vehicle for teaching legato playing styles. Mr. Shaffer's thorough knowledge of the limitations of younger musicians has allowed him to craft a beautiful setting superior in both appeal and content.
