Tracy Behrman

Biography

Tracy O. Behrman (b. c. 1956) is an American composer, arranger and educator.

Mr. Behrman lives in Wauseon, Ohio and served as director of bands from 1990 until his retirement. He directed the sixth and eighth grade concert bands, high school symphonic band, jazz band, and teaches music history and music theory. Prior to that, Tracy taught instrumental music at Pike-Delta-York (Ohio) schools for eleven years.

A native of Port Clinton, Ohio, Tracy developed an interest in composing and arranging music at an early age. He was encouraged in this area by David Randels and Earl Warnke, his junior and senior high school band directors, as well as by his brother, Webb. Tracy graduated from Bowling Green State University with a Bachelor of Music degree. A French horn player, Tracy studied with legendary teacher Herb Spencer, former horn professor at BGSU, who also encouraged Tracy to compose and arrange. Also at Bowling Green, Tracy was a student of Mark S. Kelly and John Deal.
