Program Notes
Tiptoe Through the Tulips was originally published in 1929 by Al Dubin. Its recording history includes Nick Lucas, Johnny Marvin and Roy Fox. It was featured in Looney Tune cartoons and in the movies The Confidential Agent and The Pink Panther Strikes Again. Perhaps the most famous recoding of this song was its 1967 revival by The Humane Society with lead singer Tiny Tim and his ukulele. Today's parody of the classic includes swing, bossa nova and a march style.
