Program Notes

Through his three-movement piece, Tales of a Medieval Warrior, Travis J. Weller depicts the life of a knight during the Medieval era. The first movement, A Call for Knights, features resonant and bold trumpet lines. The second movement, Courting a Lady, features chamber ensembles playing lyrically within the large band setting. Full brass fanfares begin the third movement, Winning the Joust, with exciting and driving percussion and wind statements ending the piece.
