Sydney Kjerstad


Sydney Kjerstad (b. Parker, Colo.) is an American composer.

Ms. Kjerstad is a composer of video game and film music. She lives in New York.

Ms. Kjerstad earned her master's degree in scoring for film and multimedia at New York University. She received her B.A. in music at Luther College, where she studied composition with Dr. Brooke Joyce and Steve Smith and took piano lessons from Dr. John F. Strauss. She has also received piano lessons from Dr. Xiao Hu, harpsichord lessons from Kathryn Reed, and jazz theory and improvisation from Thomas Bourcier.

Sydney Kjerstad is the creator and leader of Smart Game Piano, an online education platform that helps students learn their favorite video game songs on the piano in minutes.
