Program Notes

Suite for Winds came from my research about Latin American music and culture, especially from my research about Silvestre Revueltas' music. This work also portrays different landscapes in Latin America, such as the rainy days in Argentina, the snowy days in Chile, and the capoeira groups in Salvador, Brazil. In the process of composing this work, I invited myself not only to look for more knowledge about Latin America, but about my nation, and my country's culture and particularities.
