Program Notes
This piece is based on rhythmic impulses combined with tone (sounds) effects. (air through the instruments, cupping mouthpieces, plunger effects on brass, etc.). The piece has almost no harmonic content. It is like a human body "without the skin" (just bones). The only substantial harmony is found in the piano and harp parts.
