Program Notes

Stephen Foster Revisited was commissioned by and dedicated to the Empire Saxophone Quartet. It was first premiered by the Binghamton (N.Y.) Pops Orchestra on May 11, 1991. Since performances were already planned with wind ensemble, the piece was simultaneously scored for both orchestra and wind ensemble (concert band).

- Program Note from publisher

Stephen Foster Revisited is a setting by Bill Holcombe of several familiar Stephen Foster tunes: Camptown Races, I Dream of Jeannie, O Susannah, Beautiful Dreamer, and Swanee River.
