The following information contains links to and outlines procedures for adding a composition to various state music lists. If any information is incorrect, please contact the WRP webmaster or use the edit function of the page to correct or amend the information.
Alabama
Procedures for adding concert band works to the Alabama Bandmasters Association's "Cumulative Music List" are unknown/not publicized on their website. If you have information on how works are added, please feel free to edit this entry.

Alaska does not appear to use a Concert Band Music list.

Florida
Florida has a Concert Music committee that is in charge of maintaining the FBA Concert Music list.
Georgia
Georgia requests copies of the compositions with recordings, and then passes them around the state to a committee who takes the time to view the works, listen to them, and then fill out questionnaires about the likes/dislikes of each piece. Finally, it then forwards it along to the next person in line. The head of the committee then finalizes the music.

Indiana
Indiana has a committee that goes over the list each year and makes any necessary edits. The list of committee chairs can be found here.

Kentucky
Kentucky (KMEA) has a Selective List of Band Literature committee assigned to evaluate requests for suggested additions or changes. The complete list and a form for submissions is available to members through the KMEA website. The committee meets twice annually to review submissions.

Mississippi Bandmasters Association Required Music List
Minnesota
Conductors wishing to perform music not on this list must submit a written request and score(s) by the last Thursday in January to the Minnesota State High School League (MSHSL) Office. A special League Music Selection Committee will act on these requests.

Those interested in submitting additions to the MO PML need to mail photocopies of the score and completed 'Literature Addition Request Form' (linked above) to the MSHSAA Office before June 1st. There is now [2022] an established three-year rotation for each area of the list (specifics in form linked above). Literature may be submitted anytime throughout the year; however, it will be kept on file until the next review cycle for that specific area.
MSHSAA encourages the submission of works from underrepresented composer groups and/or cultures. The MSHSAA does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national origin, sex, disability, or age in its programs.

You must have an active Oklahoma Secondary School Activities Association account and either be teaching, or have taught in the state of Oklahoma to access the Prescribed Music Lists. Once registered select PML in the subcategories above and select type of ensemble from either Vocal, Band, or Orchestra from the drop down menu. Music Grades and Difficulties are sorted on an Oklahoma music scale 2A-6A.
