Program Notes
Sprouts was written for our grandchildren. It makes reference to the folk songs Early One Morning and This Old Man. It also begins and ends with the “secret whistle” that our family uses to contact each other!
Sprouts was awarded the 2020 Howard Cable Memorial Prize by the Canadian Band Association.
