Program Notes
The reverse of the famous Haydn Farewell Symphony, this arrangement of Le Jeune's Revecy Venir du Printans starts with an empty stage and gradually adds all of the players who enter through the audience or sides of the stage until the final chords are directed by the conductor, who arrives last. This arrangement was created for the opening of the American Bandmasters Concert in Ashland, Oregon, in 1988. It was also presented at various times at Interlochen.
