Program Notes
Song of India is taken from the opera Sadko (in seven scenes), composed by Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov in 1896. Song of India is the only well-known aria from this opera. Many transcriptions of this piece have been made, both vocal and instrumental. Willy Hautvast arranged this version for band.
