Program Notes

This gorgeous setting of an ancient French carol provides a welcome addition to any holiday concert.

- Program Note from publisher

Le Sommeil de L'Enfant is the original French title of this carol. It is often attributed to François Gevaert (1828-1908), directory of the Brussels Conservatory for many years. While Gevaert did write the best known harmonization, the tune is actually an Angevin folk song that is probably over 200 years old.
