Program Notes

Skyline is an impression of Toronto’s cityscape. The piece attempts to synergize a potentially nonsensical mix of ideas in musical terms (anxiousness and coolness, order and chaos, gracefulness and rambunctiousness, etc.), and does this primarily by building upon a basic aesthetic of perpetual motion and increasingly interlocking layers, patterns and textures.
