Program Notes

A small piece based on the story of Antoine de Saint-Exupéry's book The Little Prince, which has been a long-standing best seller for over a century, and has been widely read by children all over the world.

The image title of the scene is attached to the subtitle of each of the three sections (movements). These three may be played consecutively if possible, or may be treated as a movement form with some pause.

The main motif is a string of three notes of [G-B♭-C], which is a note name conversion of 6, 1 and 2 of B-flat, named after the name of the prince's asteroid "B 612". You can find it anywhere in the song, so let's search for it. The prince travels to 6 planets before finally arriving at the 7th earth, and it is a reminiscence of the inhabitants of each planet.
