Program Notes

Dana Wilson has always provided fresh outlooks on band works. With Sang!, he explores the interconnectivity between rhythmic utterances and typical wind instrument sound production by having players vocalize with and without their instruments. The extended percussion is great fun for the players and, along with the vocalizations, the result is a true crowd- and performer-pleasing piece.
