Biography

Royce L. Cole (b. 1982, El Paso, Texas) is an American composer, arranger and orchestrator.

Mr. Cole obtained his Bachelor of Music degree in composition and music theory from Michigan State University under the tutelage of Jere Hutcheson, Mark Sullivan, and Murray Gross.

Cole has composed for a wide assortment of ensembles including chamber orchestra, choir, wind symphony, percussion ensemble, orchestra, and small ensembles. His music has been performed across the nation by various high schools, Michigan State University Concert and Symphony Bands, Rutgers Wind Ensemble, Wayne State University Wind Symphony, United States Air Force Band of Mid-America, and the Orchestra of St. Vincent’s.

In 2005, Cole was selected as one of three individuals to participate in the National Band Association’s Young Composer Mentor Project where his work Light for Wind Symphony was selected to be performed during the Bands of America Summer Symposium. While in attendance at the event, he was afforded the opportunity to work with and learn from David R. Holsinger, David Maslanka, and Jack Stamp.

Royce L. Cole currently resides in Michigan where he continues to compose.
