Rodrigo Lomán


Rodrigo Lomán (b. 1986, Xalapa, Veracruz, Mexico) is a Mexican composer.

He has won awards such as the II Arturo Márquez 2015 Chamber Orchestra Composition Contest and II Ibero-American Composition Competition for children's and youth symphonic orchestra Ibermúsicas - Iberorquestas 2017. He is currently a beneficiary of the FONCA (National Fund for Culture and the Arts) in the program Traditional Mexican Musicians as a composer who sustains the Mexican musical tradition.

In his music, he mixes traditional Mexican music with classical concert music. His piece Flor de Cafeto was published in 2020.

Lomán's music has been performed by various orchestras and bands, such as: Orquesta Sinfónica de Xalapa, Orquesta Filarmónica de la Ciudad de México, Orquesta Filarmónica de Zacatecas, Orquesta Sinfónica de la Universidad de Guanajuato, Plano Symphony Orchestra, and the Orquesta de guitarras de Xalapa y Ensamble Kanari, among others.
