Biography

Rodrigo Gonçalves de Sousa (b. 2002, Minas Gerias, Brazil) is a Brazilian black writer, poet and composer.

Sousa played tenor saxophone in a symphonic band during 2017, 2018 and early 2019, when he started playing the piano. He studied music composition by himself during from 2018 to 2021, occasionally with the help of other composers and musicians. He studied music theory with his conductor, Josué Campos, in the year of 2016, music orchestration with the composer Jonathan Peters and music composition with the composer Josemir Valverde.

Gonçalves de Sousa currently [2023] studies at Escola de Música da UFRJ in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
