Program Notes

Rockport is the name of a small seaside town on the east coast of the United States in Massachusetts. Called the "town where painters want to draw," it's an ordinary peaceful port town, but old-fashioned buildings, calm beaches, iconic red lobster huts and small fishing boats flutter around. The scenery is so peaceful and picturesque.

The composer previously visited the city on a drive with his pre-married wife [sic], and composed this song based on the peaceful cityscape that remains in his heart and the comforting feeling of that time.

This work was composed as a flexible quintet at the request of Brain Music in 2019, and is dedicated to the composer's wife who celebrates her 15th anniversary of marriage in the same year.
