Program Notes

Named for the Hopalong Cassidy River Trail, the colorful sounds capture the spirit and vibrant scenery that winds along the banks of the Vermilion River in central Illinois. This concert overture has an energetic drive further enhanced by punctuated rhythms and edgy dissonances, all of which contrast with the lyrical and tuneful melodies found throughout the piece.
