Program Notes

Jim Curnow's well-conceived transcription is based on three 16th century dances by Susato: I. Las Mourisque (Basse Danse), II. Mille regrets (Pavane), and III. La bataille (Pavane).

- Program Note from publisher

Continuing to be a popular choice for contests and festivals, this distinctive setting of 16th-century dances has been adapted for flexible instrumentation. As with the original, it includes the movements Las Mourisque (Basse Danse), Mille regretz (Pavanne) and La bataille.
