Ray Wetherhold
Biography
Ray G. Wetherhold (7 May 1893, Allentown, Penn. – 26 May 1987, Emmaus, Penn.) was an American trombonist and conductor.
Wetherhold never had formal musical training. He started playing the trombone in 1908 and composing in 1913. Wetherhold was a printer by trade, but was also a highly respected musician in the Allentown, Penn., area where he was a member of the Allentown Band for fifty years, from 1921 to 1971. In 1972, Wetherhold was given the highest honor of the international music honor society, Modern Music Masters, by being made a life member.
