Program Notes

A "hoedown" is a western American dance form closely associated with a reel, jog or clog dance, performed traditionally as fiddle tunes in the bright, energetic and upbeat style often found in the pulse of bluegrass music. This delightful piece provides a tuneful and rhythmic representation of this music for concert band.
