Program Notes

The rag, popularized by Scott Joplin and others of his time, is a musical form still enjoyed by the audiences of today. Neil Hunter has cleverly captured the spirit, rhythms, and color of the rag in Pine Ridge Rag. It features each member of the ensemble in a jaunty, lighthearted ragtime setting.
