Petite Suite includes seven short piano pieces arranged by Charles Cushing from numbers 1, 2, 5, and 6 of Bartók's Petite Suite for piano; numbers 21 and 31 from the piano pieces For Children Vol. 1 (based on Hungarian folk songs); and number 39 from For Children Vol. 2 (based on Slovakian folksongs). Titles and tempos include Walachian Dance/Allegro giocoso, Mourning Song/Lento, Ukrainian Song/Allegretto, Slow Melody/Lento, Bag Pipe/Allegro molto, Melody for Clarinets/Andante Tranquillo, and Hungarian Dance/Allegro robusto.
