Peter Ratnik
Biography
Peter Ratnik (b. 1970) is an Australian conductor, composer, educator and performer.
Dr. Ratnik hails from Hobart, Australia, in the area of Tasmania. The majority of his education was completed at the University of Melbourne and the University of Edinburgh.
Dr. Ratnik has directed bands from youth to professional in Australia, Europe, and the United States. In addition, he regularly presents master classes and serves as an adjudicator. As a composer and arranger, he has more than 200 works in print. Of these, 64 were commissions.
As a conductor Peter was finalist in the European Conductors’ Competition in Gothenburg (Sweden) and has conducted some of the world’s best brass and wind bands in Europe, United States and Australia. Peter has also conducted many orchestras ranging from professional to semi-professional and community. These included concert orchestras, symphony as well as many pit orchestras for musical theatre.
