Program Notes

The glow of a quiet and starlit night opens this tranquil work with lightly scored melodic lines floating amid the gentle tolling of far-off bells. The music then unfolds as it easily weaves its way through a change in key, much as a wandering traveler traverses changing landscapes. Throughout the entire piece the musical material always displays a feeling of assurance and aspiration as well as peace and tranquility.
