Program Notes

In his suite Passion in Paint, composer Henri René gives his musical impressions in rhapsodic form of several world famous paintings. At the Moulin Rouge is based on Henri Toulouse-Lautrec’s famous painting which portrays a bit of the gay Parisian life at the turn of the century. Persistence of Memory is based on Salvador Dali’s famous painting. The final painting is l’Absinthe by Edward Degas.
