Program Notes
On one of Paul Yoder's trips to Japan, he became enamored with a type of pinball game. Popular throughout this island nation, it is a game of skill, as a player attempts to guide a small steel ball through a series of wickets. If he or she is successful, more steel balls are released, and although this is not a gambling game, prizes such as candy bars are offered as a reward for excellence. Wonderfully descriptive sounds prevail, with an exciting percussion part.
