Program Notes

This composition is based on the interplay between the synthesizer and the band. It is not a synthesizer solo with band accompaniment, but a work in which the band and synthesizer participate equally. Frank Erickson recognized the versatility of the synthesizer and wrote an important work using that instrument as a vital part of the ensemble. This is a tightly written composition, tonally beautiful and expertly balanced.
