Program Notes

The remarkable ability of music to express emotion is fully displayed in this remarkable work. Written prior to a catastrophic flood that affected an entire community, the work took on new meaning in helping to cope with disaster and express faith for a better tomorrow. Displaying a range of emotions from anger to reflection to hope, this is a magnificently powerful overture for young players.
