Olivier Calmel

Biography

Olivier Calmel (b. 1974, France) is a French educator, composer and pianist.

Mr. Calmel received his education as a pianist and composer in Paris. He divides his time between composing and orchestrating music for films, commissions for contemporary orchestras and ensembles, as well as jazz music.

As a performer he is very active in the French jazz scene performing in many venues and festivals. His catalogue includes numerous works for orchestra, chamber music, vocal music, jazz, film music as well as educational compositions.

Mr. Calmel teaches orchestration at the Paul Dukas Conservatory of Music in Paris. He was the winner of the 2020 SACEM’s Award for Young Composers.
